The OUT THE BOX Family festival 2010 promises rich, total theatre experiences where images, sounds and words transport audiences into intensely imaginative new worlds. This year, the Family festival, curated in association with Assitej South Africa, provides a strong showing of international work, as well as a diverse pro- gramme of new South African plays, appealing to adults and children alike. The range of styles is extensive, from wacky and humorous to moving and profound. Plays are categorised into Pre-primary, Primary or Youth Fare, to make choices easier for families.

So whether you want a crazy roller-coaster adventure ride (Ubom! from Graham- stown), intriguing visual theatre from Brazil (Papelixo), a thought provoking and tender love story (Oruk from Sweden), captivating storytelling (Tales from the Calabash and Rain), or high energy physical performances (Zambia’s SEKA), there is sure to be something for the whole family to enjoy together.

School packages are also available, and can include workshops.
